Solar-Powered Smoothie Kiosk
The Solar Kiosk is a project designed to increase awareness of renewable
energy around Purdue's campus. It will do this by capturing the sun's
energy and storing it in batteries to be used to power various
electronics. The current plan is for it to power a series of blenders
and to produce smoothies that can be sold to the student body. As the
students wait there will also be a number of informational additions
planned so people can learn more about solar energy in particular.
The project currently has the base of the cart built and will begin splitting up into groups soon. Currently the groups are as follows: Solar Panel group, Electronics group, Battery Group, and Cart group. So far the base cart is mostly completed and the solar panels, batteries, and electronics need to be added for completion.
This project is scheduled to be completed in late April as it will be shown at a Grand Prix exhibition.
